By all means, let’s shine a nice, big, shiny bright light on the Republicans’ tireless championing of civil rights, their deep understanding of minority issues, and their embrace of the marginalized and downtrodden. I can’t wait. 🍿🍿🍿 That's why he was called out!!! He ain't got a record for civil rights!

Mitch McConnell: Republicans, keep shooting ourselves in the foot. The way Biden plays the races against each other is deplorable. He's a terrible president. Stop messing up our advantages. WHAT RECORD? THE ALL TALK AND NO ACTION RECORD. The epitome of white make privilege! Wow mitchplease Trumps boys, still United to the common enemy.? The democrats.

I agree what he said was offensive and outrageous. ...and yet silent for 5 years re: the former guy's 'offensive & outrageous' behavior, day after day. No sympathy, here. If your defense is 50 years ago i did something or I agreed with the movement at the time but now im working against my original actions 50 years ago....then your points are mute!?

LeaderMcConnell mitchplease having speech writers and friends. Oops you didn’t say friends. Doesn’t mean you are racist. Exactly. Being in the presence of greatness (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) doesn’t make you great. Oh. Like his comments… usually!

I’m sorry….I find HIS statement “offensive and outrageous” in 2022. MitchPlease Yes he is offensive and totally outrageous. HaHaHaHa !!!! Like Republicans supporting of educational restrictions on the history of American slaves and First Nations taught in your schools !! HaHaHa !! American Politics !!! What a joke !!🇳🇿

What he said was offensive and outrageous! How did he vote on the voting rights bill? Case closed… MitchPlease this is no furor from the left - this is furor from humans! Be kind, be nice, be civil! I’m assuming you passed kindergarten 😝 He says: 'I was there for Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, in the audience,' and was also present 'when President [Lyndon] Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act in the Capitol in 1965' Then you should know better LeaderMcConnell ! MitchPlease

Instead of truly accepting he misspoke,if in fact he did, he should have said, “what I meant to say was…”. But no, he just wants to criticize other people for their reactions. That is the shameful part of it.

McConnellIsARacist He said what he meant! PERIOD!!! Now he should Resign....... Why we need term limits. Can limit the damage done instead of some just festering in office for years. Hooked directly to big businesses like oil and coal…. Turtles vote at the same rate as Americans do too! Typical. Say something stupid or offensive and then come back with I didn't mean it to sound that way or I was misunderstood. Just a terrible person.

'...the Kentucky Republican calling the subsequent backlash 'offensive and outrageous.' And Americans are finding your obstruction to the John Lewis Civil Rights Act offensive and outrageous, MitchPlease Mitch is now engaged in an offensive and outrageous red herring fallacy. He insulted many Americans, but instead of an apology, he's now saying that we are in the wrong for being offended and angry. Mitch Please!

Yes what you said is offensive and outrageous! Truth can hurt?

Busted. It is what the Republican party has been about since 45 showed that it’s ok to be racist. The movement comes from rich WASP that don’t want to lose control of the country. They finance white supremacy groups and want an authoritarian country to rule. Well Mitch your statement was offense and outrageous as well.

Well, Mitch, your comments were “offensive and outrageous” too. The power of the ballot box will speak, and in your case, speak loudly. You are out of touch with reality, and it’s time for you to go. Bye! How many confederate flags does Mitch own? epitome of white privilege let’s not forget that The Great Depression of 1929 & Recession of 2008, happened under Republican leadership, which we’ve repeated, again! And As the adage goes, doomed are those who don’t learn from history, of repeating it! We can’t afford to forget & repeat!

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.” “When bad men combine, the good must associate else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.” by Edmund Burk Vote true blue 🇺🇸! Save 🇺🇸 democracy! Come the 2022 & 2024 elections, Save 🇺🇸 democracy! Vote true blue 🇺🇸! MAGA + GOP = the end of 🇺🇸 democracy & the 🇺🇸🦅🗽🕊🇺🇸!

If We, the 🇺🇸 people, are ever going to get a 🇺🇸 government, that will be for the 🇺🇸 people, then We, must elect dedicated intelligent 🇺🇸 patriotic public servants, who’ll uphold their 🇺🇸 constitutional oath & do the 🇺🇸 people’s work! Save 🇺🇸 democracy! Vote true blue 🇺🇸! His face is offensive

You could have FOOL ME Oh I guess we better believe him then 🙄 A scourge on democracy and fairness. Investigate him. “Fury on the left”? It is fury from everyone who knows racism is reprehensible. If the furious are in fact only on the left then you’ve also said the quiet part out loud. He needs to go lay down and rest his neck !

Described himself accurately with words projected on others McConnell said what he meant and meant what he said. Lem me get this right...You (Mitch) were there when LBJ signed the Voting Rights act in '65... You (Mitch) voted for the previous voting rights bills...but You ( Mitch) voted against the Voting Rights act this year. What changed Mitch (You)

LMAO.. he got caught expressing how he really feels and now he’s backpedaling. 👀

Of course he does. He never does wrong. Peas o shift. If you ever had any doubts McConnell did't take it back either. LeaderMcConnell comments were offensive and outrageous. How dare he try to look like the victim here. This is the playbook. Say something incentive and frankly racist. Then when you get called on it, claim that the accusations against you are offensive and outrageous.

Yet the GOP narrative was instead that Biden was incapable of a coherent presser. Mitch was either losing it or said what he meant instead of what he intended. The press truly needs to spread the focus around on the 'old guy can't think straight' storyline. McConnell is who he is. He sat on on over 400 Democratic sponsored bills as majority leader, just to declare the 'Democrats do nothing ' In that perspective alone LeaderMcConnell is not a civil servant, but a power party strategist. That is offensive outrageous and Republican.

When Democrats can’t win an argument, Afghanistan, The Economy/Inflation, Woke Education, Invitation to Russia to invade Europe, They pull The Race Card👎👎👎 LeaderMcConnell you said what you said! The first thing that comes out of your mouth, is generally the first thing you meant! Boy bye! LetsHearAnApology MitchPlease

'I'm not racist I know black people' the rallying call of racists everywhere.

Own it Mitch McConnell heart felt response did wonders for what he believes in. He exposed himself & others like him what they think behind closed doors, but sometimes they make a slip to see what they really are. It's a sad times in Amierican society. He’s offended that he offended? Ok whatever. Human. Kind. Be both.

If you don’t vote for me you ain’t black. Right McConell? Oh wait….. Biden said that? He can’t even lie straight. Once again, a leopard doesn’t change his spots, this is who they are. So when you vote for them your voting against your own interests. Sure is interesting, the leader of the Senate GOP blocks this voting right bill and says he's all for civil rights! Truly precious! This is the guy that said no to any Democratic proposal from day 1 of the Biden administration! Vote Blue!

they won't murder you but they love you as an assole The backlash is well deserved. No LeaderMcConnell , it’s YOU that is “outrageous and offensive”. Your lame attempt at “what about my PREVIOUS record of voting”, and the fact that you merely attended some speeches is not fooling anyone. Hopefully SenSchumer cancels you soon!

Didn't he promise to retire? He's like 90..good lord! His record is he's a Klansman. Comment's that he sparked. So thoroughly tone deaf Biden 'You ain't black!' 'The poor kids are just as bright as the white kids.' And NBC backed him up all day, all night. See how this work? Blacks are Americans! I have a question, why doesn't the media call Biden a racist? Why aren't African-American Democrats outraged by Biden's blatant discrimination against blacks?

The outrageous and offensive was u and ur words.I think u were well aware of what u were-saying and given todays “white supremacist” facist leanings of the party u lead.U felt safe and secure in saying what u did and then pulling ur typical “stop over reacting”

Racist guy mad about being called racist. Mitch McConnell is offensive and outrageous. In the context of his ongoing attempt to deny voting rights to African-Americans, we all know he accidentally said exactly what he meant. Black peoples always offended and outraged. Maybe they’ll loot more trains and burn more buildings etc

comment earlier this week about Black voters, with the Kentucky Republican calling the subsequent backlash"offensive and outrageous." McConnell addressed the controversy at a news conference in Kentucky, calling the criticism an “outrageous mischaracterization of my record as a result of leaving one word out inadvertently the other day, which I just now have supplied to you, is deeply offensive.” The Senate GOP leader sparked an uproar Wednesday while explaining his opposition to Democrats' voting rights legislation . "If you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans,” McConnell said at the time, implying that Black voters are not Americans. On Friday, he said he"inadvertently omitted the word 'almost,’” but then after the news conference ended, he returned to the microphones to correct himself one more time."The omitted word is 'all,' not 'almost,'" he said."Sorry." Following Wednesday's remark,"MitchPlease" began trending on Twitter, with several Democratic lawmakers using the hashtag. Among them was of Illinois, who tweeted a picture of himself in front of the White House and wrote,"African Americans ARE Americans. #MitchPlease." Charles Booker, a Kentucky Democrat seeking to unseat GOP Sen. Rand Paul in November, tweeted a clip of McConnell's comments and added:"I need you to understand that this is who Mitch McConnell is. Being Black doesn’t make you less of an American, no matter what this craven man thinks." McConnell on Friday called such criticism"hurtful and offensive, and I think some of the critics know it's totally nonsense." "I was there for Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, in the audience," and was also present"when President [Lyndon] Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act in the Capitol in 1965," McConnell said. "I have had African American speech writers, schedulers, office managers over the years," he added.
