Dallas police said an 11-year-old boy who disappeared overnight Wednesday was found alive at a home Friday afternoon.
Traveon Griffin was found at a home on Winecup Ridge Dr., which is a few streets over from where he was last seen. Medical crews are checking on him and he was taken from the scene in a stretcher, but his condition has not yet been released. Officers and volunteers had been searching his neighborhood and surrounding areas. Crews on horseback and police even had a drone up as the weather was below freezing and had been for most of the day.
Police upgraded the case to critical because of the clothing he had on and the cold temperatures. They said he was only wearing shorts, socks and did not even have a shirt on and wasn’t dressed for the freezing cold.On Thursday, police and volunteers went door-to-door asking people if they’ve seen Traveon."Some of his nature is to kind of hide, so we're hoping that's what he's doing," said Dallas Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell.
I dont like fox but I'm happy a child was found alive. This makes my heart at peace.
Ground him until he's 22.
I hope they investigate what caused him to run away. Poor kid.
