Minnesota's attorney general has requested a severe sentence for former police officer Derek Chauvin for acting with 'particular cruelty' in the death of George Floyd.

by a jury of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter on April 20 for the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May 2020. His sentencing has been scheduled for June 25., it's the single most serious charge. But, Minnesota sentencing guidelines suggest Chauvin's more likely to receive up to 15 years, based on his lack of a prior criminal record.George Floyd is pictured in an undated photo released by the office of Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump.

Lastly, four of the individuals who witnessed Floyd's death were minors, with one just 9-years old at the time, the court filing stated. "Defendant thus did not just inflict physical pain. He caused Mr. Floyd psychological distress during the final moments of his life, leaving Mr. Floyd helpless as he squeezed the last vestiges of life out of Mr. Floyd's body," Ellison added.

I find it hard to believe that Chauvin, who committed an obvious cold blooded murder in it's entirety, for the world to see on video was not charged with murder one. All the elements of mens rea and actus rea were satisfied, in my opinion.

His defence should have argued diminished mental capacity. That he had a psychotic break down due to PTSD after years on the force.

TezlynFigaro DEATH!

Good!!

We need to open our eyes to how the devil sets us up with our powers, positions, wealth or egos. Such crashes are always abysmal.

you could see chauvin was loving it, the power, the attention , he loves it.......

He will be free and clear after the appeals process. Thanks to fools like Joe Biden and Maxine waters. He will be found to have been convicted by a jury under Duress. The Politicians should learn when to shut up

Does the attorney have in mind the punishment used by ISIS? Hahaha!

I don’t think he the he even cares, he seems pretty dead inside.

Lee_in_Iowa .lethal injection kills him in under 1 min, he tortured George Floyd to death for 9 and a half.

Good.

Just throw that key away!

Life in prison is adequate, no parole.

Lee_in_Iowa Agree

Lee_in_Iowa LWOP. Nothjng less.

Why wouldn’t you seek what you normally seek for 2nd & 3rd degree murder charges. Your people didn’t even charge him with 1st degree yet you want the sentence to be that? Sounds more about your political ambitions

Hope the judge sentence him to 40 years

Un hecho horrible que no debe repetirse ni en el presente ni en el futuro. Se necesitan mejores protocolos policiales a fin de que éste tipo de criminales no desprestigien al resto que si son trabajadores y serviciales.

Why don't They just execute this fulla.Problem solved.

que esse canalha apodreça na prisão, no Brasil se fosse preso seria por poucos anos.

They’re putting him in gen pop?

Better idea? Put him in a car, tell a bunch of cops its a Black man with a warrant & see what happens. If he lives, which I doubt he is a free man, if not well sentence served.

You’re kidding me!

Chauvin should go straight to jail no parole no bail and no suicide watch be in there with the rest of the prisoners

Eric Nelson's weekend just got busier. 🤔

Max 40 Years..... George is DEAD indefinitely.....

Of course, he murdered the man. If you don't think so. Let me put my knee on your neck for 9 minutes. I tell anyone if you think it was not murder, let someone knee your neck like that. See how you come out on the other side.

Hopefully 40+. Probably 15-20.
