The city of Minneapolis has reached a $600,000 settlement with 12 protesters who were injured during protests after the May 2020 police killing of George Floyd.

The agreement, which also includes numerous reforms, was accepted the same day by a federal judge, making it official after the city approved it in October. The settlement includes an injunction that bars the city from arresting, threatening to arrest or using physical force — including chemical sprays, flash bang or concussion grenades and foam tipped bullets — against people who are engaging in lawful protests. It also limits officers’ use of chemical agents to disperse peaceful demonstrators.

In Minnesota, the protests lasted for days. While most demonstrators were peaceful, some damaged buildings and set fires, even burning a police station.

I live here, and no one liked the destruction of the riots….mostly done by white supremacists groups, but they finally exposed the rotten core of the MPLS police Union and their protection of rotten cops. Not all cops were bad, but protecting the bad ones ruined the department.

50k each? They got off lucky

Liberals paying leftists.

George Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose. It's so interesting that The Biden Administration's freaking out over the truth Tweeter wants to release, I say we the people have the right to know. The terms of this settlement should be the national standard. Some of the police are out of control. Especially since they know there are no repercussions. You know the old “we investigated ourselves and found ourselves not guilty” routine.
