Minneapolis Mayor Calls for Arrest of Officer in George Floyd Death

MINNEAPOLIS—Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called for charges against the city police officer who held down George Floyd with a knee on his neck until the man appeared to lose consciousness.

“I want to see a charge take place,” said Mr. Frey, declining to elaborate on the kind of charges he would like to see. “I want to see justice for George Floyd. I want to see the charge of the arresting officer take place.”
