"MINECRAFT WE ARE WRAPPING," he writes in his caption. "All my aloha to my crew and cast," he continues, calling the filming an "unbelievable movie experience" and "one of the greatest times of my life." Momoa also praises the country of New Zealand for serving as the main location where filming took place.
One major difference between The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Minecraft is that the former is animated while the latter will be in live-action. The fact that the former film was animated likely contributed to its success, with more families with young children going to see it. Minecraft, however, could still end up being a success due to the popularity of its video game source material if its brought to life in live-action in a compelling and faithful way.
