Millions of Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles have been recalled because a silicone spout can detach and pose a choking hazard for children, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission stated Tuesday.

Contigo, a Chicago-based company, has received 149 complaints, including 18 incidents in which the spout was discovered in a child's mouth. No injuries had occurred as of Tuesday. Recalled bottles should be immediately taken from children. The bottles, which cost between $9 and $24, were sold at Costco, Walmart, Target and other brick-and-mortar stores nationwide, as well as online between April 2018 through June 2019. About 5.

Another great piece of American design.

What’s wrong with a simple screw cap?

Let's ban choking hazards because they are a real threat to children. But keep the guns...

Hmm. I have one of their travel coffee mugs. Best coffee mug I've ever had. When the last one finally bit the dust I went to the store to get another one but they changed the style. Then I remembered I gave one to my mom a year ago and she never opened it. I stole it from her.😚

Are those the same ones they are using at the Border Camps? My son used the larger Contigo bottle all last year and the black flip piece from the spout broke off in weeks. He’s old enough not to swallow it, but I’m just saying they probably need to fix all their bottles. lauragysberg
