Millennial etiquette to avoid phone calls at all costs is actually phenomenal for productivity.

Each generation has its quirks, and millennials are certainly no exception. One piece of unspoken etiquette? Avoid phone calls — at all costs.

Because they have lived so much of their lives being extremely accessible to others — and can also recall a time when this wasn’t the norm — they are more sensitive to boundaries than some may assume. Be this as it is, it should come as no surprise that one of the greatest millennial pet peeves is hosting unnecessary calls and meetings.

The only reason an email should not be sent to communicate basic information is if the conclusions, objectives or answers are not yet decided upon, and multiple people should be present to weigh in on them.

When people text me constantly. I just call them. I guess that makes me old. It seems easier to call then endlessly text.

I'm a Gen Z and I absolutley hate phone calls. Texting is much better folks.

No one need to be a millenial to hate of someone made a phonecall if he could have written what he want.. some written words tell information fast..mumbling around at a phone, maybe with bad connection, feels like waisting time for nothing!

I can't read the blue wrighting it sucks

I’m an old fart millennial and love phone calls. Might be more “productive” to text, but hearing someone’s voice fosters a deeper level of connection that can’t be replaced by all the text messages in the world.

The assertions in the video clip are very apt. It should be noted that phone call gives room for denials.

Agreed. If anything ever happened to internet connections, electricity or a serious economic collapse occurred most people would freak out and not know what to do except those of us who lived thru those times.

Me too. And I'm too old to even be a boomer.

is my fav news agency, period

Technically a late gen X here, and even I hate phone calls.

We don’t ‘hate it’, it’s just not a pertinent mode of communication most of the time. I can also tell you that not everyone enjoys ‘texting/emails’, it just comes down to preference and convenience at the time. Also ‘speaker’ mode is a thing, people call whilst texting fine.

What PhoneCalls achieve that digital does not is: 1) The person most likely heard the whole conversation (as opposed to skimming email, etc.) 2) HumanConnection where you hear the person's tone of voice conveying agreement, concern, etc. which helps build trust. Business Biz

No doubt email is an effective tool, but human connection is how the passion, vision and “why” behind those instructions is conveyed. If meetings aren’t valued, a change in leadership style could be more valuable than a change in communication method? simonsinek?

It would be helpful if you could share the evidence base for these assertions and how that evidence (If it exists) aligns with or debunks the school of thought that speaking creates better connections.

You’re KIDDING right?

Merci 😊 ☎️🇺🇸🇬🇧🇫🇷🇯🇵😇

Not only that email holds a person accountable! Taking phone calls just means you’re giving up your own one for someone else, totally agree Millennials

jamiepatrice60 Have a good weekend

Ok millennials

My longest phone call in 2010 was 8 and a half hours with a female friend. It was non stop laughs and no awkward pauses, etc. Phone calls with friends are now technically pointless. People prefer texting because it's halfway between calling and emailing.

jamiepatrice60 Have a good week

Phone niceties are awkward bc they're really not necessary. Only people unused to phone calls use them. I agree about being held hostage to immediacy of the phone... but one thing it (or face-to-face talking heaven forbid) does is iron out nuances that you miss in texts/emails.

Voice calls and eye contact. Not their thing.

I just hate robo-dialers. No phone calls themselves

no no no bad bad bad i dont want to be integral to every day life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too

Not a millenial, but I hate phone calls. bitcoin

Dwyane Wade Reacts to 'Hate' Over His Child Zion's Crop Top and NailsThe basketball star supports his family with 'pride, love & a smile!' Personally, I would not post my child. Not out of shame, but for protection. Children are frail these days. It is up to the parents to protect them at all costs. Good for him, but that doesn't stop people from expressing their opinion, sorry but you might want to take let it go, all that matters is you love your son, stop worrying about who doesn't, right Magic? Or are you really ashamed? Are you? He seems happy and healthy , that’s all that matters.
