Meanwhile, Generation X was projected to pass the Boomers in population in 2028.
"We just love this circumstance because it is very possibly the changeover point now for what we have been waiting for a long time," Smead said.
Buying weed?
Starbucks- Prius-
Drugs, marijuana and guns. Millennials are a lonely bunch.
They waste it on extravagant items and cry for loan forgiveness
No way! A cultural shift never brings about change in spending habits!!
they don’t tip
Please tell WarrenBuffett 😉 justinsuntron founder of trx and the Tronfoundation figured that out years ago 💪 Fast and cheap cryptocurrency transactions without middlemen are the future 💵🚀
And I'm not doing it at this point in time
$30,000 that's it
Electing Bernie will be the change they’re waiting for.
In the 70’s I did not care to buy online on my iPhone. Couldn’t get my streaming to work either. My wages covered rent and food and a couple of tanks of gas. A movie once a month or so.
Is it really a shift from discretionary to necessity spending? Millennials have had necessity spends in the form of student loan repayment and rents. One can argue the necessities are changing, it’s not like we can now afford houses because we’re eating fewer burritos
Propaganda
It’s almost like the world and people evolve and have different wants and needs..
Translation: Millennials will be destitute when they grow up.
CNBC seems to be churning out mostly meaningless content as of late.
They'll never stop buying new phones .
This makes no sense.
As every generation before them...
Dump da ponzi.
I love how they are trying to spin millennials having only enough money to buy the essentials, like a house, as a good thing. It’s not.... capitalism pretty much depends on disposable income. Also low interest rates are not the blessing they seem to be. Those rates go up.
If only the boomers allowed an economic system for millennials to buy cars and houses instead of paying off debt
Millennials are spending their candy differently than any other generation — and it's changing America's economy.
They are smart!
The shift in 20 years will happen, but it will be deflationary. Boomers dont have enough for retirement and gen x & y cant afford million dollar homes while having massive student debts, asset prices will decline. Income will matter more than assets as jobs for automated.
Article is from Oct last year
Bye-bye companies that sell 'edible meals' that they shouldn't be allowed to call food.
'prioritize' means 'broke' because wall street is taking all the profits for the fat cats.
Millennials = Destroyers
Tide pods?
Please stop running 3 month old stories. No one is expecting a rate cut this month as this outdated story says.
Arbitrary timeline designations.
At least they HAVE money to spend. Thanks to MAGA KAG
Can you say stupid.
“We are practically giving them the money to buy houses and buy cars etc,'...while drowning them in student loan debt 🙄🙄🙄
Trade workers will be in high demand allowing their wages to grow and also having a positive impact in our economy. 👏🏽👏🏽
'Necessity spending'? Bullshit. If that was the case, my entire generation would get a landline, instead of a cellphone. In fact, they wouldn't bother spending money on smartphones, in favor of the cheaper basic cellphone (AKA, flip-phone). My generation talks a big game, but....
Clickbait baloney.
Yes, they think they deserve anything they want like extravagant bachelor parties, avacado toast, bottomless brunches and then they cry for loan forgiveness on student loans.
Yep...and the sun rises in the east and sets in the west...everyday
Can’t wait when the millennials are bunch of 55-65 year old blaming the younger generation for everything
Way to go geeks. Gen X just checkin on you dilz...
Check out my podcast to catch up on all the current events.
Wish this article balanced the spending potential with the reality that a high percentage of them are saddled with so much student loan debt and underemployment that those 'necessity' big ticket items will remain far out of reach.
Millennials are Destroyers!
rebmy75 I don’t think so. Disagree. Change the channel
Seems to show a slight wake up call from the age group, which is always good to see
What money? What is this money you speak of?
You mean they're finally going to grow up?
Oh look another 'millennial' story
CNBC 🌰🌰
What part of they are BROKE and in DEBT don’t you understand? $100k in student loan debt with an $18/hr contractor job and no benefits is NEVER buying a home.
Yes, we're going to stop buying Chipotle and start buying houses. Absolutely.
Millenials lol.
Doesn't every person of every age everywhere do that?
This is great news for the economy! I think we're going to see a similarly dramatic shift in political ideologies from that group as well and our elected officials are going to be a lot different from those in office today.
“In 20 years, there is going to be way more payers into the social security system and there is going to be way fewer taker-outers — and that problem will solve itself through demographics,' Smead said.” .....After most of the boomers are dead. Fixed t.
