Up to four immediate family members can also get free zoo admission as part of the promotion.“During the Month of the Military Child, the Department of Defense uses purple to represent all services in the military community,” said zoo spokesperson Cyle Perez. “We encourage guests to wear purple on Wednesday, April 20, to honor and thank the military children of our service members and veterans.”

Military parents must show a valid military ID to receive the complimentary admission and discounted tickets. Standard admission to the zoo is regularly $21.73 for adults and $17.16 for children ages 3 to 11. Children ages 2 and younger are free.The San Antonio Zoo, located at 3903 N St. Mary’s Street, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
