Nearly 200,000 people were arrested as tens of thousands of families and unaccompanied minors crossed the border in July, marking the busiest month at the border in 21 years, according to new figures released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection

The Border Patrol made about 200,000 arrests at the southern border in July, marking the busiest month at the border in 21 years and a 12% increase, according to new figures released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Thursday.

The number marks a departure from seasonal trends that would typically see fewer migrants attempting the dangerous journey at the peak of the summer heat. Nearly 19,000 unaccompanied children crossed the border in July—almost equal to the record set this March. And 76,000 parents and children crossed the border together as families, the second-highest total ever and a significant jump from June.

The CBP data only includes the number of arrests and doesn’t account for people who made it across the border without being apprehended—typically single adults in search of work who don’t intend to ask for asylum. The past six months mark the longest period in recent history that monthly crossings have remained near or above 100,000, an unrelenting pace that has placed a heavy strain on the immigration system and posed one of the largest political challenges for the Biden administration so far.

Inflation Stayed High in July as Economy ReboundedInflation stayed high in July, with U.S. consumer prices rising 5.4% from a year earlier as the economic recovery gained steam All they had to do was pump couple mill in to precious metals derivative markets and they can eliminate some of the symptoms of inflation. Kind of like taking an ibuprofen to bring down tissue inflammation - it works - but doesn’t do much if a broken bone is what’s causing it. And the nytimes is here for all of it. The more afraid and panicked people are and reliant on the government and involved in group think, the better. When Obama was president Republicans like Larry Kudlow were crying for 4% + inflation as 2% wasn’t enough. Now they are crying 4%+ inflation is way to much.
