Zach Johnson was right on the 2024 Masters Tournament cutline as he stepped onto the tee box at the 12th hole during his second round Friday.
The par-3 hole, as it has to so many players before, proved to be a nightmare as the 2007 Masters champion sailed his tee shot into the woods. His third attempt flew wide right and his pitch back to the green rolled out well past the flag. Johnson could not stop the bleeding by sinking his double-bogey put and had to tap in for a triple-bogey 6.
The patrons seated some 175 yards away politely clapped for him finally finding the hole, but Johnson didn't much care for that.
