Microsoft to Acquire Bethesda Softworks for $7.5 Billion

Microsoft cited its focus on growing cloud gaming service Xbox Game Pass, which has 15 million subscribers, as one motivation for the deal. I’m sure a poor launch for fallout and then the pandemic forced Bethesda’s hand to be aquired. This is not good news for independent developers, and gamers will ultimately lose as you would eventually need both consoles to play title exclusives.
