Mexico sends delegation to defuse President Trump's tariff threat

WASHINGTON - Mexico on Monday made clear it would reject a U.S. idea to take in all Central American asylum seekers if it is raised at talks this week with Trump administration, which has threatened to impose tariffs if Mexico does not crack down on illegal immigration.

Speaking to reporters in Washington before this week’s meetings, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said the country is committed to continuing to work to keep illegal immigrants from Central American from reaching the United States border. U.S. business groups have opposed the tariff plan and the influential U.S. Chamber of Commerce is looking at ways to challenge it, including legal options. The Mexican economy which is heavily reliant on exports to the United States, shrank in the first quarter and would reel under U.S. levies that would start at 5% but could reach as high as 25% this year under Trump’s plan.

In May, numbers are expected to have outpaced the 99,000 people apprehended at the U.S. border in April, with many of those crossing in groups of families who will mostly be released to await asylum hearings in the United States.

It's in the hands of the Mexican president to do something. And it's the jet business is going create jobs and employ the Mexican people it's in the president of Mexico's hands.

Good they need to stop talking and do something. There are no longer jobs on the farm that are made by people but jobs are done by machines. If Mexico wants to export to the US they need to build factories and employ the Mexican people.

Mr Trump stick to your guns.

Stocks slump after Trump expands trade war to MexicoThe IRS has proposed an update to the Form W-4 that it says will increase its accuracy and reduce its complexity. But experts caution that it will feel different to employees and may prove a bit more difficult for some. Remember when Obama weaponized the IRS against conservatives Does anyone think he didn't weaponize intelligence agencies against a Presidential candidate wrong link In other words, the trump train wreck is making the stock market awfully painful right now for investors, but now is a spectacular time to buy stocks bc they are less pricey. **cough NBEV cough**
