The Mets shortstop has been battling a stomach illness since Wednesday

Lindor isn’t the type of player to accept rest days or less playing time. Even after feeling “a little weird” during the West Coast trip, when reliever Drew Smith battled with illness, he played through until he couldn’t anymore. On Wednesday his illness was so bad that he risked having an accident on the field if he didn’t pull himself out of the game.
