Mets fans rally around man ejected from $1 hot dog night: ‘Let him eat’

The Mets sold 44,269 hot dogs on Tuesday, and one fan in particular was taking full advantage of the promo. His enthusiasm eventually led to otherto X. As he stood up to leave his seat, they began chanting: “Let him eat.” He was greeted with cheers as he waved to the crowd.“So this guy was just all about the $1 dog night. Totally embraced it. The story goes… in the 9th inning everyone started throwing their extra dogs at him. Cops had to toss him so everyone else would stop.

Gelbs reported that the Mets typically sell about 4,100 hot dogs per game, but ordered 70,000 in preparation for the promotion.
