— When Mets catcher Tomás Nido called for a slider on the fourth pitch against Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm in the ninth inning on Monday, Edwin Díaz shook him off. Bohm had been late on the previous three pitches, all fastballs, the last of which clocked in at 99.2 mph — Díaz’s fastest pitch this season — and the two-time Reliever of the Year Award winner wanted to throw it again.
