Mertz’s 3 TDs, career day rallies Florida to 41-39 victory over South Caroilna

Mertz, who entered second nationally in completion percentage , threw three incompletes and faced fourth-and-10. That's when he found Pearsall for a 26-yard gain. The Gamecocks trailed 27-24 on the last of four Trey Smack field goals midway through the third quarter. Two series later, Rattler led the go-ahead drive that included his 27-yard run into Florida territory and a 20-yard scoring toss to Trey Knox for a 31-27 lead.
