MIBInternational taking in $26 million amid franchise fatigue

,” the fourth iteration of the sci-fi comedy franchise, is performing under expectations, which had been in the $30 million range at 4,224 locations. The three previous “Men In Black” films, starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, all scored North American debut weekends of more than $50 million in 1997, 2002 and 2012.

Should the Saturday morning estimates hold, “Men in Black: International” will have the lowest gross of a first-place title since the second weekend of “Shazam!” led the April 12-14 chart with $24.5 million. The film, which is also opening in most foreign markets, carries a $110 million price tag, co-financed by Hemisphere and Tencent.“Men in Black: International” takes place in the same universe as the previous trilogy, with Emma Thompson reprising her role as Agent O.

,” declining 51% to around $23 million — and Disney’s fourth frame of “Aladdin” with about $17.6 million. The live-action reboot of “Aladdin” should finish the weekend with approximately $264 million domestically.

Go see it for Emma and John Lithgow. They have a seen that is worth the price of admission

Bottom line amazon should have paid no more than 5 million for it

The feminist films only work in Hollywood and New York. Hence the strong numbers. The rest of the country cares less

Strange, how tepid and lukewarm are Amazon’s video offerings when compared to Hulu or Netflix. Good Omens was boring and extra-slow. Ms Maisel got emotional instead of funny an Mozart is no longer in the jungle. No wonder even Kaling is having a hard time.

She annoying af. Who in their right mind would pay money to see her?

It’s almost as if Mindy Kaling isn’t a star, has never been a star and is never going to be a star.

wow who could have seen this coming

Maybe because she’s kinda annoying and co-star level talent at best?🤷‍♂️

Thanks to the trailers showcasing the film's terrible and heavy handed feminist script, subtlety goes a long way

Her feminazi views followed by this stupid question make it very apparent why this film bombed LoL

If you really want to increase that pace make something original with similar merits instead of piggybacking off of a once successful franchise. Ghostbusters is case in point.

Man she sure does make it really easy not to care that this movie is a box office disaster. I mean really easy. Everything's a fucking lecture these days.

Wow she makes it really hard to not feel good this movie tanked.

Can't believe it. Is it about genders again? 😆

They loose me when Tessa Thompson said that she wanted to change the name of the franchise. This movie is gonna fail.

I know y'all did not call this legend a 'Robert'. That's not his name!!.

my God!!

Richard Roundtree

Between this crap and the new MIB movie, I'd say that Hollywood is running out of ideas. All they make is remakes and reboots, it seems.

Siri, who is ROBERT Roundtree?

Ummm, you mean Richard Roundtree?

Samuel l Jackson is confirmed to stay in the MCU I see

We did not want a comedy tone movie and usher kid was bad choice

Bad movie fatigue. just like the last jedi killed starwars

I knew they was doing too much when they announced this movie. Leave the franchise alone, they their time.

Fatigue?

Franchise fatigue is industry talk for we thought we could get your money with an inferior product.

It’s not franchise fatigue, it’s Hemsworth fatigue. Dude can’t act his way out of a paper bag and absolutely no one gives a shit about him when he’s not being Thor.

Dark Phoenix is looking better & better 😅

Franchise Fatigue? Not sure its fatigue. MiB3 was what? 7 years ago. I think the issue is that MiB is a bit of an obscure comic universe without a huge generalized fanbase, MiB 3 was awful so could be hard to recover and its got new stars - No Will Smith, like Independence Day 2

Everything about this movie was bad to begin with the casting, the trailer, the promotions ....

The only promotion I’ve seen for this movie are those stupid Lexus commercials...

Yikes 🥴

Song of the Thin Man style?

It’s bad movie fatigue, we’ll watch the same shit repeatedly if it’s good

And the fact that the two stars are currently in another movie together as pals. It's redundant. People are tired of looking at them. Sorry to say. I know I am.

Franchise fatigue 🙄

What fatigue.

‘Men in Black: International’ Review: Humor, We Have a Problem“Men in Black: International” is what it is, an industrial product recycled from the remnants of an exhausted franchise and aimed at a young audience that may not know or care what a joy the original was Nobody cares about movie reviews. Still can’t believe people are paid for this. Nothing easier than compensating an easy-going victim.
