Memorial Day events in L.A. County in memory of those serving U.S. armed forces

The Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club, in collaboration with Forest Lawn-Glendale, has set up their “Field of Honor” display of 1,000 American flags on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The Rotary Club will hold their Memorial Day program, 11 a.m. May 27. Forest Lawn-Glendale holds their Memorial Day program at 1 p.m. May 27.

The City of Alhambra, in conjunction with the Alhambra American Legion Post 139, present the observance beginning with a continental breakfast and live music, 10 a.m., and followed by a program, 11 a.m. Alhambra Park Veterans Memorial, 500 N. Palm Ave. 626-570-3242. The observance includes an invocation, a color guard, ceremonial wreath presentation, a reading of the presidential proclamation and a keynote speech, 10 a.m. Location, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. 855-800-5296.

The event begins with a concert by the Burbank Community Band, 10:15 a.m., followed by a program that includes the “Ceremony of the Rose,” 11 a.m. Condor Squadron flyover.
