and Prince Harry have kicked off their Nigerian tour today—and Markle has already told the cutest story about her daughter. The pair spent their first day in the capital, Abuja, where they spoke to a group of schoolchildren. During the talk, Markle recalled how the two-year-old Lilibet recently made a surprisingly profound statement.for the event. She went on,"She's about to turn three. And a few weeks ago, she looked at me, and she would just see the reflection in my eyes.
“Oh, now she was talking really literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way,” she said. “And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me…” Markle concluded that she also sees herself in the children in Nigeria, too. "As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well," she said.
Tomorrow, the pair will attend a training session for the charity Nigeria: Unconquered before attending a reception hosted by the chief of defense staff. Markle will also co-host a conversation with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director general of the World Trade Organization.
