A new medical office building project in San Jose is headed for a key city approval milestone.

SAN JOSE — A new medical office building project in San Jose is headed for a key city approval milestone, a potential sign that the health care sector remains robust despite an uncertain Bay Area office market.

The building is part of a larger redevelopment of parcels next to Good Samaritan Hospital that would replace several older structures. Cilker Henderson Properties, a real estate firm, has proposed the project. The three-story building totaling 46,000 square feet would replace an existing building that totals 20,700 square feet, the city planning files show. The proposed building as well as the recently completed building are part of a campus along Samaritan Court and near State Route 85 that was developed and is owned by Cilker Henderson Properties.
