Although 420 is long gone, medical marijuana is having a moment in San Antonio . Today, the Texas-based medical marijuana provider, goodblend, is hosting the grand opening of its brick-and-mortar pickup location on the far North Side . The shop at 18720 Stone Oak Parkway is marking the occasion by giving out free and discounted prescriptions to those who qualify under the Texas Compassionate Use Program .

” MOVE OVER WILLIE WONKA: Texas dispensary first to offer medical marijuana chocolate bar Enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2015, the Texas Compassionate Use Act permits physicians to prescribe the use of “low-THC cannabis” to patients with conditions like epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and cancer. Nico Richardson, the interim chief executive officer of Texas’ largest medical marijuana dispensary, told the Texas Tribune the program had registered around 45,000 patients as of last April.
