Total sales sank 30% in the second quarter compared to last year, McDonald's announced Tuesday, falling to $3.76 billion. Net income plummeted 68% to $483.3 million.The figures reflect the April to June period, the first full quarter of coronavirus effects in the United States. But beneath the terrible headline numbers, some numbers indicated improvement as the quarter went on.For example, US same-store sales were down 19.2% in April compared to last year.
But same-store sales outside the US fell even more and their recovery has been slower, dragging down total global same-store sales. This is total bullshit. I work in the corporate office of a competitor's franchisee. We just had 5 of our 31 stores hit record sales, and 20 of 31 with a minimum of 114% increase in sales for the last week vs last year. Fast food is booming. McDonald's is angling for a PPP loan.

It is probably because they increased the prices of their menu items. I could never understand why companies feel that raising prices increases income, rather than understanding that it chases customers away.
McDonald’s should work on better food and not play politics and they might turn around.
Restaurants that cost cheaper is way better with more food. Shoo Diners are cheaper and better so able-MC DONALDS! Hope other people follow suit! I can remember my first date was in there now I tell my child to go to Five Guys!
