The Republican push to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas faces obstacles with Congress divided between the GOP and Democrats.

"House Judiciary Republicans have summoned Mayorkas for border investigation," said Rep. Mayra Flores, R-Texas."Nothing short of an impeachment and removal proceedings should be the outcome."

Hard line conservatives have long argued that Mayorkas's alleged mismanagement of the surging migrant crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border rises to the level of impeachment. "A lot of us were upset at the way that House Democrats politicized the impeachment process during [former] President Donald Trump's tenure," said one centrist GOP lawmaker."No one wants to see a president or cabinet official impeached simply for holding different views than the party in control of the House."

That's unfortunate. He's by far the worst DHS Secretary ever. A complete failure. The US will be cleaning up after him for years.
