'I'm a more patient mom after we've spent some time apart.'

It's Not That Easy to "Plan On" Being a Stay-at-Home Mom Before You Have Kids These Days — Here's Why

As my family prepared to welcome our second baby earlier this Fall, I toyed with the idea of staying home with my babies permanently this time. After all, babies aren't babies for long. I wanted to revel in their little-people years as much as possible. Besides,. Surely I could handle the stay-at-home-mom gig for a few years until they were in school.

The decision-making process caused me a lot of anguish, but something changed several weeks after my daughter was born. I returned home from an afternoon of running errands without my kids. It was the first time we'd been apart since she was born. I realized I felt refreshed, not stressed, for the first time in weeks. It suddenly hit me: the quality time I spend with them is more important than the quantity.

, I'm confident it was the right decision for our family. We discussed the logistics of making it happen and came up with a plan — I'm so grateful we figured it out. Do I miss my kids while I'm working? Absolutely. But I'm a more patient mom after we've spent some time apart and I've had the opportunity to engage in projects that excite me on a professional level.

It took a lot of soul searching, but I've realized that being a full-time stay-at-home mom isn't for me — and that's OK.

Real ID compliance may leave up to 85,000 stranded the first day; senators aren't having itSenators are raising concerns about travel interruptions that could arise if travelers fail to present Real ID Act-compliant identification. Plenty of time to tinker and improve it by the time the election comes around. Hey DHSgov and TSA -what if we all wore the gold stars pinned to our jackets? Or maybe we could have our Drivers License numbers tattooed on out forearms? Would that put the starch in your brown shirts? We can't get real ID because the agency that is suppose to issue the IDs isn't capable of delivering it. ID that will be issued per day = Total no. of people to get ID ÷ days remaining before implementation Enough manpower, machines and ID cards should be allocated properly.

Some? Really? For some people they may be safer where they are. Going thru an airport or getting on a plane may not necessarily be their safest option now.
