Gov. Maura Healey issued cannabis pardons on Wednesday for those previously convicted of possession in Massachusetts.

The Commonwealth became the first state to follow President Joe Biden's lead whenHealey said about 100s of thousands of people would automatically be pardoned of misdemeanor convictions.However, those who wished to get a certificate that certified the pardon, could fill out an online form.

The governor’s pardons have to be approved by the Massachusetts Governor’s Council, which meets in two weeks.
