Glenn cuenta con unos 3 300 empleados y con un presupuesto de cerca de 900 millones de dólares. Pérez-Davis es responsable de los proyectos que se asignan al centro para desarrollar tecnología en el área de la aeronáutica y la exploración espacial.

Durante sus estudios, uno de sus profesores y mentor la animó a adentrarse en el mundo de la investigación. Y luego, a escribir su primer póster, un informe de su estudio sobre la planta de bambú como fuente de energía. “Y no me preguntes los detalles porque no me acuerdo; estamos hablando de muchos años atrás, y ha llovido bastante”, dice entre risas. “Pero sí me acuerdo de que yo estaba muy nerviosa porque sabía que me iban a hacer preguntas”.

Una vez trabajando para la NASA, siguió estudiando: en los años posteriores completó una maestría en ciencias de la Universidad de Toledo y luego un doctorado en ingeniería química en la Universidad Case Western Reserve, ambas en Ohio.Durante los primeros tiempos en Cleveland hubo desafíos.
