She said that"Morgan had a long history of violence, of being mixed up with shady characters and shady situations, and there was no telling what he might do for money."In his court papers, Morgan asserts he does not have"a history of violence,” adding also that he has never been convicted of a crime. Morgan also takes issue with the book announcing that he had been"institutionalized,” saying his brief stay at Sagamore Children's Center as a young boy was a private matter.
While Mariah acknowledges in her book that Morgan lent her $5k early on to make her first professional demo, she also said that she has paid him back"five thousand times over." Morgan takes aim at that statement saying it implies that he attempted to extort money from his sister. In February, Mariah's older sister Alison also sued the singer. Alison filed a $1.25 million dollar lawsuit against her for allegedly causing her immense emotional distress from statements in the memoir. Alison said she was seeking the money for Mariah's"heartless, vicious, vindictive, despicable and totally unnecessary public humiliation" of her in the book, according to her two-page complaint filed Feb.1 in New York Supreme Court.
