Eight motorists and a pedestrian were killed over the weekend on Bay Area roads.

when the SUV she was driving was struck by a wrong-way vehicle on southbound Interstate 280 near Woodside. A 14-year-old boy in the SUV was injured, as was the wrong-way car’s driver, a 24-year-old Campbell woman.

when a car in which he was a passenger went off Marshall Petaluma Road near Highway 1 and struck a tree. The 21-year-old driver and another 16-year-old passenger were injured. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
