Manufacturers allowed baby food contaminated with heavy metals to remain on shelves, lawmakers say

Gerber and Beech-Nut failed to properly test and remove baby foods with dangerous levels of inorganic arsenic from the market, while Sprout Foods Inc., Walmart's Parent's Choice and Plum Organics were lax in testing and controlling for heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium, according to a US Congressional report released Wednesday by the House Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy.

"Today's report reveals that companies not only under-report the high levels of toxic content in their baby food, but also knowingly keep toxic products on the market," said Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois, chair of the House Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, which conducted the investigation.

Any wonder why there is a rise in Autism! Most of USA industries are self regulated, and if regulated, the oversight agencies are filled with the people who have conflctofinterest

But no manufacturers convicted and imprisoned for doing this. Why is it believed that adult food and refined preserved processed food is baby food? Because manufacturers say so. Solid food should only be given to babies after they have grown teeth.

Parents need to make their own baby food... it has less sodium, sugar, artificial flavors. Stop giving your children cockroaches and bug bugs!

We will all eventually acknowledge that when you allow the corruption of capitalism to run your life in every sense of the word, you will eventually fall. It isn’t a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. And, it will happen.

100% unacceptable and 100% those responsible must go down from the top down!
