A man who drove his car through a fence Tuesday afternoon in Red Bird was shot sometime before the crash, Dallas police said. Officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of South Cockrell Hill Road, near Red Bird Lane, about 5:40 p.m. for calls of an SUV that lost control and struck a light pole before crashing through a fence.
Police said they found the man, believed to be 30 to 35 years old, behind the wheel and suffering from a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue took him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
