With the Rootstown man, 25, showing a warrant with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for abduction and possibly carrying a knife, officers from several agencies assisted in looking for him.
The suspect’s cell phone was pinged and found to be in the area. His father, a resident of the complex, arrived home and brought officers to his apartment on the seventh floor to see if his son had returned there. At that time, another resident reported that the man was on her balcony and tried to enter her apartment through a sliding door. He subsequently jumped over several balconies until he reached the final one on the northeast tier of the building.
