A man wanted in Florida and Georgia for felony domestic violence and other charges was arrested after a high-speed chase in two north Alabama counties Monday.A deputy observed a white BMW traveling at a high rate of speed, passing two trucks on the road’s shoulder and almost striking one of them, Sims said.
Police joined in the pursuit as it continued over the Tennessee River bridge. When the BMW approached the Alabama 69 intersection, the driver attempted to turn right and lost control, striking another vehicle turning onto U.S. 431 South, Sims said. He is being charged with felony attempting to elude, a probation violation from Georgia, and numerous traffic offenses. He still remains under guard in the hospital with no bond, Sims said.
“This individual did not have any regard for anyone on the road, only that he did not want to go to jail on felony warrants stemming from felony domestic violence conviction in Georgia or any other charges,” Sims said.
