An 80-year-old man was struck by an ambulance on state Route 94 in Lemon Grove and taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate to major injuries early Tuesday, a California Highway Patrol official said.
The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. on east SR-94 near Waite Drive. The man had been walking in the freeway lanes when an American Medical Response ambulance struck him, said CHP Officer Travis Garrow.
