The unidentified man was taken to University Hospital and believed to be homeless. It is not exactly clear why he was on the tracks.
Police say the train came to a stop about 150 yards away near West Summit, not far from Blanco Road after the conductor first noticed the man on the tracks staring at him just before 7 a.m. Officers first searched the area where the train hit the man, but they could not find him. He was not found until they searched where the train had stopped.The collision is the second involving a person in just two days.
