A 34-year-old man was stabbed twice during an argument with a group of men Saturday evening in downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood, police said.
The attack happened about 6:35 p.m. after the victim and the other men started arguing on National Avenue near Commercial Street, just southeast of Petco Park and the 12th and Imperial trolley station, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims. It was not clear exactly how many men were in the group, but at least one of them stabbed the victim twice, Heims said. The victim was also struck in the head with a blunt object.Paramedics took him to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, according to Heims. San Diego Police Department central division detectives were investigating the attack.
