TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — A man has beenby a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy at a housing neighborhood for those who have recently left homelessness situations.
According to the TCSO, deputies responded to a welfare check at approximately 9:36 p.m. Wednesday at Community First! Village, located at 9301 Hog Eye Rd off of FM 973. When they arrived to the housing neighborhood, deputies stated a man was"behaving erratically" and he then brought out a weapon. The deputy involved is set to be on administrative assignment during the investigation.
The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation into the shooting. The TCSO Criminal Investigations Division and TCSO Internal Affairs Unit are also working on the case. The Travis County Sheriff's Office said that they will not release any more information about the shooting any additional information will be released by the Texas Rangers. This is the second shooting in 10 days that has happened at or near the Community First! Village. in connection with his 61-year-old father's death. We will provide any details on the Wednesday night shooting as they become available.
