Gianni Gray was sentenced to life in prison with parole eligibility in 84 years in the fatal shooting of two men on Interstate 90 in Cleveland.CLEVELAND, Ohio— A judge on Thursday sentenced a man to life in prison with parole eligibility in 84 years for fatally shooting two men while driving on the West 117th Street exit off Interstate 90.during a Zoom videoconference while Gray remained in the county jail because of coronavirus protocols at the courthouse.
The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. July 14, 2018 on the off-ramp, one of the busiest in Cleveland. Gray pulled up next to their car on the ramp and opened fire. Both Williams and Stewart suffered several gunshot wounds to their heads and bodies. A bullet grazed the Lakewood woman’s abdomen. Gray was released from prison eight months before the shooting after serving time for attempted possession of a shotgun and handgun. Gray’s brother, Orlando Gray, was shot and killed in 2015.for more than two years. U.S. Marshals tracked him across the country, including to Florida and Michigan. In December 2018, he successfully ran from police in Detroit.
