The owner of the store had a warning on what to watch out for Thursday.

-- A bogus inspector was captured on camera conning employees at a Chicago store out of cash.

The scammer walked into the Kilwins ice cream and sweet shop at 310 S. Michigan Ave. downtown and told staff he was there to inspect their carbon monoxide detectors. But the business runs completely on electrical power."It's just another one of these scams on the street," said Kilwins Chicago owner and operator Jackie Jackson,"another easy hustle.

"He was just confident – just told him like, 'This is very serious – there's a leak someplace,'" Jackson said.

Either that Kilwins has horrible luck OR there’s something fishy going on. Been on the news repeatedly the last 2.5 yrs. Victims of George Floyd riots, victims of smash & grab, victims of a robbery, not victims of a scammer. THAT is your story CBS!

Police won’t do anything - many just sit in the cars checking their social media- why do they have two or three police cars staffing with less than one blocks from each other? We don’t need more police ! We need effective police force!
