Man plunges to his death from penthouse of Midtown hotel

The 47-year-old man leapt from the 25th floor of the Gotham Hotel in the Diamond District just before 6:30 p.m., cops and the sources said.The man was pronounced dead at the scene in what police are investigating as a suicide. The unidentified man is the latest in a string of jumpers who plunged from the top floor of the Gotham Hotel, where nightly rates for the penthouse run for more than $1,000.The bodies of all three were found on the same second-floor landing in the hotel’s rear courtyard.
