Man linked to Maira Gutierrez's kidnapping said he might have to 'kill this girl,' court docs show

, her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Chacon, reportedly told a family member,"I think I am going to have to kill this girl," charging documents show.. Chacon surrendered at the Laredo Port of Entry, a day after Pasadena police announced him as a person of interest in the murder of Gutierrez.

A witness who saw the incident outside her bedroom window told the responding officer she recognized the man and woman involved as residents of the apartment complex, the documents show. Another witness gave the officer a partial license plate number for the SUV and said the man was holding a handgun when he entered the driver's seat.

She was found fatally shot at the lot after being kidnapped at gunpoint hours earlier. Police have been searching for her ex-boyfriend Daniel Chacon in connection with her killing.Pasadena police learned the SUV, which is a GMC Yukon, was registered to Gutierrez at a south Houston address.

Chacon is charged with aggravated kidnapping and is in the custody of the Harris County Jail. Upgraded charges from the Harris County District Attorney's Office could be forthcoming, according to Bruegger.Chacon has a history of domestic violence arrests dating back to March 2012 when his common-law wife told Houston police he struck her with his hand.
