A 33-year-old Annapolis man was killed late Friday on Interstate 97 in Anne Arundel County after he left his car to check on a friend, Maryland State Police said in aShortly before midnight Friday, Maria Ines Cortes-Gutierrez, 40, of Glen Burnie, was driving on I-97
when she stopped her car, which did not have its lights on, near the Crownsville exit. Her friend Victor Antonio Diaz Aguilera, who was driving a separate car, stopped and ran across the highway to check on Cortes-Gutierrez, who was seated in her vehicle, police said.
