William Cunningham Jr., 65, died of accidental blunt-force trauma and drowning, according to autopsy results

Authorities released the name of a 65-year-old man whose body was found last weekend drifting in the ocean off La Jolla Shores. A pair of surfers discovered William Cunningham Jr.

of San Diego dead about 150 yards offshore on Saturday morning, according to the Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy determined that Cunningham died of blunt-force trauma and drowning, the agency reported. The death has been ruled accidental. When he died remained unclear as of Thursday morning. No further information was released.
