A man found dead in a field in unincorporated Brentwood last week with an aggressive bull around him had suffered some major injuries, authorities said.
Gang Sun, 74, of Brentwood suffered blunt force injuries to his chest and abdomen, and a preliminary autopsy indicated those came from a large animal, according to a statement from Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jimmy Lee. Deputies found Sun lying on the ground in a field Thursday and an aggressive bull that was running loose on the property in the 1900 block of Bixler Road. They were called to the area around 11:45 a.m.
According to Lee, deputies put down the bull because it charged deputies after they moved their patrol car as close to Sun as they could. Deputies found Sun is in the middle of vast farming area near the Discovery Bay border, about a half-mile south of Point of Timber Road. It was unclear initially whether the bull had caused the death.
