A 36-year-old man drowned at Lewisville Lake Sunday. Witnesses said he fell into the water while trying to dock his boat.

Lewisville police said it happened around 9 p.m. near Courtesy Dock off Sandy Beach Road.

Witnesses said Carlos Martinez reached out to push against a piling to slow a boat as it was coming into the dock. He fell into the water and didn’t resurface.Divers pulled his body from the water and tried to revive him. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.Martinez was not wearing a life jacket, they said.

ScannerRadioDFW Wonder how many will die this year due to not simply wearing one. Granted they were docking and he likely saw no need.

This is clearly murder.

Sad...how many will learn to not be on the water with out a lifevest. Maybe at all the docks have a plaque with all that have died with a warning
