Police said they received multiple 911 calls at approximately 4:02 p.m. reporting that Sims was acting erratically and throwing things inside the Circle K store located at the I-35 frontage road and Slaughter Lane. Callers said Sims then stole a pickup truck from one of the store's gas pumps.
