The man was shot in early January in Camden, police said.

A 28-year-old man who was hospitalized since January when he was shot in Camden died Saturday from his injuries, authorities announced Tuesday.

Andrew M. Ayala was found by officers on Jan. 3 shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the area of North 20th Street and Wayne Avenue, according to a joint statement from theand the Camden County Police Department. He was suffering from gunshot wounds and was rushed to Cooper University Hospital. He was pronounced dead on Saturday at 5:01 p.m. and an autopsy performed Sunday showed that his death was caused by multiple gunshot wounds with complications and that the manner of his death was a homicide, the office said.

The shooting remained under investigation by the agencies and no suspects were named and no arrests were made as of Tuesday, police said.
