A man in jail awaiting trial on homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide charges will spend at least 9 years in jail on unrelated crimes that officials say he committed inside the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
The Bucks County Detectives Drug Strike Force worked with prison officials to investigate Sanchez and found he was buying suboxone strips for a couple of dollars each and reselling them inside the facility for $100-$200 a strip, according to the DA’s office. Although investigators did find some of the drugs before they got into the jail, authorities estimate conservatively that between 100 and 150 suboxone strips made it into the facility over a seven-month period in 2020.
Prosecutors said he was taking advantage of inmates struggling with addiction and putting the community and the facility at risk with his smuggling ring.
