Officers were dispatched at 8 p.m. Friday to a report of a person down near state Route 78 and the Sycamore Avenue exit, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Around the time of the call, the California Highway Patrol saw a vehicle that possibly was involved in the shooting. The suspect and driver, Joseph Freddy Cedillo, 19, and passenger Jamal Alexander Solis, 18, fled the scene headed east on SR 78, which resulted in a pursuit ending in San Marcos, authorities said.Sign up for NBC San Diego newsletters.
